Yellow Fungus- After Black And White Fungus Yellow Fungus Got Reported In India

After Black and White Fungus Yellow Fungus got reported in India. Yellow fungus, which grows internally is said to be more dangerous than the other two types and it seek early treatment in case symptoms begin to appear. The first case of yellow fungus has been reported today from Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh on Monday 24-05-2021 when a 45-year-old patient was found infected with yellow fungus. People who come in contact with the fungal spores in the environment catch Yellow Fungus. 

Causes of Yellow Fungus

It is believed that poor hygiene standards or consumption of unhygienic food cause yellow fungus infection. Excess use of steroids or antifungal medicines can be the reason behind such infections in Covid-19 patients, even if recovered. Humidity in a closed space (house or office) should not be above the 30-40% range as high moisture environments promote the growth of fungus.

Symptoms of Yellow Fungus 

The patient suffering from yellow fungus complains of extreme tiredness, low or no appetite, leading to weight loss. Subsequently, the weight of the patient starts decreasing rapidly. Reportedly, it later results in internal bleeding and multiple organ failures. More symptoms of Yellow Fungus can be sunken eyes or the formation and leakage of pus.

Treatment of Yellow Fungus 

Anti-fungal drug Amphotericin-B is being considered as a primary treatment of yellow fungus. The same injection is being used currently to treat black or white fungus cases in the country.
